Hi Pat,
I would suggest that you seek out a dermatologist immediately. It sounds like you could have infected areas if it oozes like that. A dermatologist can provide you with more treatment options than a GP can. Try www.skincell.org and join the Forum. Post an intro message like the one you posted here and see if they can be of help to you.
