Lump on back (info. added to original message which was sent prematurely) (nail cancer tumor)

I had the tumor removed 1 week ago and had my follow-up visit with the
surgeon today. He told me it was a lipoma and that he was able to
remove all of it. Its size was 6.9 x 5.5 x 2.0 cm. It was rather
deep, he said it was very close to a rib and to a muscle. The surgery
was done out-patient (at the hospital because of the tumor's depth),
and I have to tell you I've had more trouble handling a hang-nail than
I did with the surgery.

Anyway, I am feeling much better (mentally) now that it is over with
and there was no cancer.

Hope you're healing well.
Hopefully they'll send it to pathology and you'll get a copy of the report to
confirm that it is benign.

The surgeon gave me a copy of the pathology report at my follow-up
visit yesterday (that's where I got the size of it from). It is
benign.
