Default Me again: HIVES

To all, it's me again and I said I'd keep you fellow hive sufferers
posted. My latest desperate kick is MSM and Omega fish oil (one a day).
My hives are better but not completley gone. Again, I'm not sure, I
can't swear if it's the MSM, Fish oil, both or neither. Maybe just
co-incidence. But I had hives bad for a long time and they're BETTER.
(Thank you God)

I'll post again about this. There must be other itchy people out there
too. There must be. Are there? E-mail me at home if you want.

DeDe...I am being treated with large doses of Prednisone and Atarax and my
hives have improved by about 25% which is not enough for me. I am still
waiting for my appointment with the Rheumatologist to get one biopsied and
see if it is Vasculitis. I have torn up my legs from scratching and make
sure I hand wash all the time so I don't get an infection where I scratch.
It drives me nuts!! Oh yeah...what is MSM? Trudy.

Trudy, I lookd MSM up and as far as I can tell it's a sulfer found
eveywhere. I admit it, I'm desperate. My hives are not entirely gone
as I had hoped. However, they ( they,as if they're living things) are
better...well...different now. Hardly any of the superficial skin type
everywhere anymore, but some deep deep in the tissue ones. These cause
swelling, itching & burning beyond this world.
Lots of us 'hivers' are waiting until you get your biopsy and the
results back, then post it them.
Tell me everything about your hives. Every little itchy detail, please.

DeDe, I have been going through many surgeries and meds for the past three
years at Cleveland Clinic and U of M Ann Arbor Medical. Along the way
after one of my surgeries for sinus mucoceles (tumor like growths that
wore through my orbit floor) I ended up covered with hives. First they
thought it was one of my meds and as we changed those nothing changed.
Finally they think it has come down to an autoimmune response with my body
kind of attacking itself thinking it is protecting me. My hives are mostly
on my legs, some on my arms, and I rarely get them on my trunk area. They
are different from other hives I have had when I was stung by a bee or
allergic to something. They are just a little raised, quite red, painful
and itchy...and they are deeper into my tissue like yours. In the process
of making me better the medical community made me worse and now are trying
to find what they did and how to fix it. Wish me luck. Will let you know
when I see the specialist about the biopsy. Trudy.

good luck, hive-ers (or however you spell that). I hope your MSM works. I
have chronic pain/itch and can say it's not worked for me but keep on
trying it. MSM is really, really a good ****gesic if nothing else. Not to
encourage you to spend more money, but if you're going to take it, get the
most effectiveness by taking enzymes two or three times a day. without the
right enzymes, the msm or any other thing won't be absorbed very well.
believe me, after about three days, anythign you take will be absorbed
much better. it's noticeable.
good luck,
