so, i’ve had this headache. i’ve told you. i’ve whined.
i called my docs office Thursday to tell them that enough is enough is
enough, and they suggested I go to day surgery for “IV medication”.
ok. fine. whatever.
they gave me a mixture of a cortisone and thorazine. (yes, thorazine)
****it didn’t work*****
and apparently I am STILL allergic to cortisone. I’ve had to
practically bathe in Benadryl because of the allergic reaction I had.
I see my PCP doc tomorrow afternoon. We’re going to discuss the
weirdness of him prescribing a cortisone cocktail knowing I am
allergic to it.
We are going to discuss this 4-week-long headache. We are going to
discuss preventative medications.
Since I’ve met my yearly out-of-pocket deduction, we might even
discuss an MRI of my head.
If we don’t get this taken care of, I’m going to either get fired,
divorced, or both :/
I’ve been one grouchy witch. With a capital B.
Wednesday, (my birthday), I’m going to see my chiropractor. We’re
going to discuss the numerous knots and muscle spasms that are
springing up everywhere on my shoulders and the back of my neck.
It’s raining today. The rain is great. We live on the edge of a
desert, so rain in West Texas is always welcome.
It’s killing me with the headache/fibro stuff. it’s making me whine.
i’m tired of whining
i’m tired of feeling bad
i’m tired of missing work
i’m tired of doctors
i’m tired of medications
i’m tired of my body failing me
i’m tired of growing older
i’m tired of being tired 🙂
a positive thing is that my knees feel better. maybe it’s just that
the headache is worse than the knee pain, but i don’t think so. i
think the knees are better. i see *that* doc in a month.

I am so sorry that you are still having headache troubles. And wish I could
do something besides pray. Please let us know how it turns out with your
PCP doc. We care, and wish we could help.
Happy early birthday. You are in my prayers.

The doc is trying me on a lidocaine nasal spray and an
anti-inflammatory. I’m also being referred to an ear nose and throat
specialist because the doc thinks there is a nerve up in my nasal
something or other–I didn’t get the “doctor-speak”.
I’ve been awake since 3:45 a.m. and just went to the pharmacy to pick
up that nasal spray and got home.
******it’s the wrong prescription*******(they gave me someone elses
meds which is a huge violation of the HIPPA laws)
***and the pharmacy closed at 6:00****
I’ve had this headache since August 13. I’m running on empty, majorly
ticked off at myself for not checking the Rx before I left the store,
and having to wait until tomorrow to get this medication.
Lately, if things could go wrong for me, they have. No matter how
weird or whatever, it’s happened to me.
Sorry to whine. I’m VERY frustrated right now. Ricki

Really do hope you got the prescription thing straightened out, and are
finding some relief by now. That would be a nice birthday gift…
Hope you are doing better. And Happy Birthday, for whatever that is worth.
Thinking of you.

Thanks. Finally got the med about 6:00 last night. It helps a
little. The headaches begin between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., are in the
same spot on my head/face, and I awake *every* morning at 3:45 a.m.
It’s odd because the doc said “only men” get cluster headaches. The
more this goes on, the more I’m looking forward to seeing the
specialist, even though it’s scary.
And it’s worth a LOT for the birthday wishes. Thanks. 🙂
