I’m in the middle of marathon training and am currently 4 weeks pg. My
doctor & coach have both cleared me to continue so all is fine there.
My question really is about MS. Living in Texas I have to get up at
5:00am to work out due to the heat. As of this past week it seems that
MS is starting to affect me. Not so much getting sick yet but just
extreme waves of nausea. Crackers seem to help but they get crushed in
my pack. Any suggestions for something other than crackers? Any
tricks? Don’t get me wrong..this is NOT a complaint 🙂 I’m just trying
to find a way to deal with it better.
Thanks in advance,
Susan in TX

I don’t even know what to say to you! I can’t believe you are training
for a marathon. I am impressed! My DH is in training right now too.
I had a lot of MS~ just nausea, I never threw up. I am also a runner,
but due to IVF and being too afraid, I have given it up until the baby
comes. I know for me fruit worked very well for those 6 weeks.
Especially granny smith apples and oranges. I did not work out at all
in the first trimester other than walking and light weights when I did
not feel like puking!
Good luck, I hope you continue to feel well enough to train!
p.s. it really hit me at 6 wks when I *thought* maybe I’d be one of
those women who doesn’t get struck by MS. Darn.

First of all, you’re crazy! But if you must continue this craziness I
would suggest grapes and ginger ale–I just had to keep something in my
belly at all times. I was very sick with this pgny and mostly had to lie
down til it passed.
