Maggie, thanks for the update. Perhaps the case is not quite closed for this
particular judge. If there is more follow-up, would you please keep us posted?

Didn’t you know better before you did it?
Without a doubt.
Like a Polish pick-up full of horse manure?
If the meds were so important they should’ve been in your carry-on bag.
And the bag was waiting for you at the curb?
You didn’t have to go in and look around for the bag?
And that 15 minute drive?
Is that 15 minutes each way?
And you didn’t park your car in the parking lot?
You just left you car in a “No Parking Zone” and ran in?
If the front door was closed you wouldn’t have found your daughter in the house either.
What was the malfunction?
You couldn’t lock it?
Or your daughter could UN-lock it?
So the state investigator indicated to you that in a case where a child 8
years old or younger is left alone regardless of the circumstances a finding
of neglect is mandatory.
But DFACS spokesperson Renee Huie commenting on your case said “It’s kind of
a fine line as to what constitutes neglect. We just say never leave a child
alone. A child under 10 should never be left alone.”
Why do you think Huie withheld the mandatory finding information from the
Being the spokesperson for DFACS Huie should have known that, don’t you
Did you know that leaving your 4 year old daughter home alone would result
in a mandatory finding of neglect if it was reported to DFCS before the
state investigator told you?
And when did you know it?
Neither you nor the investigator could awaken your four year old daughter
for an interview?
At 7 pm?
Why would you do that?
DCAFS didn’t tell you not to leave the state.
If they did you wouldn’t have called to “see whether it would be alright.”
You wanted to check with DCAFS to see if you could do something that no one
told you not to do yet this whole debacle started because you did something
that you knew was child maltreatment without speaking to anyone!
How do you explain that?
Substantiated… as it should be.
So no one from DCFAS is going to monitor the Safety Plan you agreed to.
It’s nice to get DCFAS out of your life in a matter of weeks… especially
after you’ve been founded for neglect.
How many parents have lost the custody of their children in your Courtroom
for a similar mistake?
How many parents have been brought into your courtroom for a similar
mistake, been allowed to keep their children, but have had DCFAS in their
lives longer than you did?
Have you ever been the Judge on a case where the parent made the same
mistake as you and had DCFAS out of their lives faster than in your case?
I’m sure she is.

BTW, the child is adopted. I wonder if the Judge is receiving adoption
payments for her taking the child. Considering the Judge’s public salary and
her feeding at the public trough, that might make an interesting investigative
I wonder if KIN were ever asked or investigated to harbor the child?
Under Federal Law, relatives are supposed to be considered. Wonder if any
funny shenanigans were perpetuated by DFACS, DFCS in her adoption of this
Also, the Judge violated canons of Judicial Ethics by not reporting the
incident to colleages nor her superior at Court.

How many people think that if this mother had not been a judge, that
CPS would’ve taken her child into protective custody?
I have never even gone out to get something out of my car, without my
kids either comming with me, or standing in the front doorway where I
could see them, and they could see me, much less leave them home
alone, no matter how short a trip. Thats just common sense. But I dont
have my kids, and this woman does. Whats wrong w/ this picture?

Hey, I just thought of a reasonable explanation: maybe the suitcase was
filled with cocaine? That’d provide an excellent reason for getting it
immediately *and* taking whatever chance to leave your four-year-old out
of things in case they went sour.

killed. You must have noticed them…these are people who wander through

Well now.. what else could she possibly say? Sorry, but I still don’t think
her situation warrants the full blown investigation any more than a parent
need be investigated for an error in judgement. I’m not defending the
judge. I am against so much govenment intervention. bobb

Dunno. But this is a good excercise to see how public emotion effects the
If the judge loses she will be used as an example to justify many other
cases when CPS moves to remove children. If she is let off so to speak…
this case could prove to have a chilling effect on the authority of CPS…
at least locally. Rather than rooting to have the judge treated like other
‘common’ folk and lose her child we should see the case as is really is.
Unfair state intervention.
