I’m hoping someone can help me diagnose (or point me in the right
direction) with something that’s been going on for quite a while. Since
a year or so – cannot pinpoint the exact starting time – I’m getting
these small bubble-shaped pockets of fluid right underneath my skin on
my right hand (thumb, index finger and occasionally palm) and on my
right foot. The bubbles are not larger than a breadcrumb (not more than
one mm in diameter) and seem to be right underneath my skin as I’m quite
easily capable of puncturing them with a needle to drain them. If I
don’t do so (drain them), the bubbles last about 5 to 10 days during
which time they itch like crazy (although not constantly). After this
period during which the skin above them dries and hardens, they ‘burst’
and a day or so later there’s no more trace of them.
It seems to be somewhat stress related: they appeared right after the
birth of our daughter – there were some complications during delivery –
and recently started appearing at a faster rate again (now that we’re
trying to get things underway on the construction of our new house).
However during less stressfull times they also appear, but at a slower rate.
If someone recognizes this or can suggest some possibilites, it ‘d be
much appreciated if you could let me know. In any case I will be seeing
a dermatologist sooner or later but it would be nice to know what I’m in

I have this too. It is called dyshidrotic eczema. My doctor prescribed me
some allergy pills and prescription strength hydrocortisone. Until you can
get to the doctor, I would reccomend going to the drugstore and picking up
the OTC versions of these products. Whatever you do, try not to itch the
blisters, when they pop it just makes them worse! I get them when I get
stressed out…during finals week, my hands were so broken out that I
couldn’t grip my pencil to write!

Dishydrosis. I have had this and it is stress related. See a derm.

You might want to consult with an allergist also. I found out that I was
allergic to latex and also some foods too.
Though there is no cure, I have also found tanning in a salon works some

I get these on my left hand, only along the outside of my little finger, I
know it is stress because I have had a wheat, pork and fish free diet for 10
years and I am also allergic to latex. When my finger breaks out I can feel
my lymph glands swollen on the same arm so I massage around the glands and
wait it out. The spots can be very painful, but they do go away.
