Sleep apnea can be obstructive (anywhere down from the mouth/nose to the
lung), central (something in the brain) or “mixed”. It’s rarely defined
by overnight sleep tests, just the severity (of apnea).
So the strap might help. There’s nasal pinches that open up the nasal
passages more, but since it gets complicated to figure out where the
obstruction is (and/or the cause), if it’s severe, the fastest easiest is
CPAP or Bi-pap
Don’t sleep on your back. (sometimes helps a little)
Do you have electrical now?
Sometimes some of them have used ones (or trade-ins) at lower prices.
Ask why though (ie what’s wrong with them, can’t get parts, they upgraded
to a bi-pap etc etc) or maybe there’s a local outfit who would take
Or ads in newspapers etc? Or local outfits who have older models,
working/tested, cheaper and would back up the product and ensure
