When the hotline won’t talk to you, and even threatens to call the police on
you if you call back because they think you are doing something
inappropriate due to your funny breathing (I have Tourette’s, and it affects
my breathing as well as the muscles in my shoulders, etc.) God. I guess
I’ll wait til Monday, and call the administrative office and
complain/explain. They apparently have people who call and do
innappropriate things while talking to them, but come on. I barely got
anything out after the girl answered before she called my by my last name
(caller ID, I suppose) and told me not to call back or she would send the
police to my house. Then I heard a siren in the distance, and I just hoped
it wasn’t coming here. Apparently it was’t. C***. I just wanted to talk
with someone for a minute while I tried to figure out what I am going to do
about the difficulties I am facing. I told her I wasn’t suicidal or
anything, and I didn’t know if anyone would call what I was dealing with a
“crisis”, but… And that’s as far as I got. Gave me a stern warning and
switched me over to a bilingual message line telling me that my call had
been deemed inappropriate and that I was not to call back. Then hung up on
me. sigh Now I’m not only depressed, I’m scared. What do you do?
Sorry. Thanks for the bandwidth. I’ll find something else to do…

that’s a first for me. sheesh. she wasn’t trained. bystander on the
street may think this but 911 and crisis should have the experience.
sounds like she’s barely out of high school. i think posting here was
the next right step. and monday is a few hours away. was only last
week i found out how fast SNRI withdrawal happens and you helped me
there. people are checking asdrs from time to time. i’ll check back
Dave 2012-08-18 16:23:46
Thanks, Sphinx. I’m doing a lot better this AM. Will call the admin number
later and mention it to someone there for the purposes of letting them know
that better training is needed for some. I really am okay now, but
yesterday I was a mess because of all this. sigh
Take it easy, and thanks for the encouragement.

Consider complaining once you have calmed down.
Dave 2012-08-18 16:23:48
That’s basically what I did. Called them this AM and left a message. They
called back this afternoon. They apparently have people calling and saying
innappropriate things all the time, so I’ll have to watch my breathing and
be sure to let whoever I am talking with know that I have a neurological
disorder that affects my breathing. Whenever I all again…
Anyway, I’m still a little nervous, but getting better. Thanks all…

Glad to see you are doing better, Dave. I had a meltdown last week
and talked to one of my bosses. He really helped me. I’ve had a
bunch of c*** crashing in on me in a short time period and it surely
can be overwhelming.
Sometimes it really does help to have someone to talk to..someone who
won’t judge you, or think you are crazy. Makes me miss my therp from
back in the day.
Sorry you had a bad experience and I do hope you are feeling better.
Dave 2012-08-18 16:23:52
Oh yeah, I’m a lot better by this time. Still wonder how long it will be
before I call back, and if I will. sigh Oh well, maybe I need to stand on
my own two feet a little more. 🙂
Hope *you* are doing better. Didn’t know you were having a meltdown, and
wish I could have helped.
Be good to yourself. That’s what I am going to do today.
