Default Performance Charts - Catastrophic Failure (0x8000ffff)

Super simple question, I know I'm missing something basic somewhere.

I'm setting up some simple two-node web/general clusters using Windows 2003
(no sp) and AppCenter SP2. Once the boxes are clustered, if I add a perf
counter I always get the following in the chart window:

"An error occurred while loading the performance chart. The following
member(s) did not return data: <2nd node name> Catastrophic failure
(0x8000ffff)

In events I will see the following (for instance):

12/12/2005 2:23:44 PM CHRVM50 8015

Application Center
Source: Monitoring Logging

Log query SELECT TOP 91 * FROM PerfHistoryView WHERE
(Name='Processor Utilization (Server Avg Cluster Avg)' ) AND (TimeMeasured
<= {ts '2005-12-12 20:23:44.000'}) ORDER BY TimeMeasured DESC failed to
execute using the connection string Provider=SQLOLEDB;Integrated
Security=SSPI;Data Source=172.30.220.126\MSAC;Initial Catalog=ACLog. Status
is 0x8000ffff Catastrophic failure

------------

Any ideas? The first node has no problem showing them, it's just the 2nd
node that errors.

Check for duplicate entries in your HOSTS file.

Thank You

Indeed, these new clusters I "cheated" and setup manual host entries to the
mgmt nics before using the Windows 2003 Network Load Balancing Manager when
setting up NLB before clustering them - I removed the duplicate host file
entries on one of the clusters and the charts immediately started reporting
from the 2nd node.

You sir, are a forum god among mortals. I thank you muchly.
