Default How to get Send Handler property of Send Port using WMI

Hi Guys,

For one of our product we (during installation) create a biztalk application
and one send port (Transport SQL) to write stuff in our own database.
Therefore I need to give login rights and execute (on the SP being called by
the SQL Send Port) to somebody.

My intention is to grant access to the Windows Group running the Host
Instance that my send port is being run as.

Playing around with WMI scripts, I am able to retrieve my port
(MSBTS_SendPort) and also am able to list host instance NT Group name.
However I can't seem to be able to relate those together.

Any ideas, alternate way of solving my global problem.

Hi Oliver,

On BizTalk 2006, we start to support specifying send handler for a static
send port. However you are right that there doesn't seem to be a property
to determine which handler is used under MSBTS_SendPort WMI class.

I need some time to research this issue about how to retrieve the
correlation between MSBTS_SendPort and MSBTS_SendHandler. If there is any
findings or conclusion, I will post here to let you know.

Please wait for my update. Have a good day.

Sincerely,

WenJun Zhang

Hi WenJun,

While you are looking into on your side, I did some more research. I have
no way through WMI however, I can find the information by linking 4-5 tables
together in the Biztalk Management DB. I would like to NOT do that in my
production code. I'll keep it as plan B.

Thanks.

Hi Oliver,

I've pinged our BizTalk group about this but the email response may be a
bit delayed due to Thanksgiving. I will update you as soon as I get any
info of this.

Happy holidays!

Hi Oliver,

I've got conclusion on this issue. Unfortunately we cannot do that in WMI.
This was a new feature added in BizTalk 2006 and the WMI layer wasn't
updated to support it.

You can enumerate send handlers and ports using Explorer OM through: the
ITransportInfo2 has the SendHandler property that you need.
SendPort.PrimaryTransport and SendPort.SecondaryTransport properties are of
type ITransportInfo2.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
