Default Cannot delete Network Bridges

Hi,
I tried to connect a PC XP pro SP2 with a laptop XP Home SP2 through a wired
connection through a D-Link DI624.
After several unsuccessful attempts where I could see the shared directories
on each computer but were denied access, certainly because of mistake in
configuring the firewalls (yes, I know ... Dumb) I end up with 3 Network
bridges on my laptop that I don't know how to get rid of.
I deleted everything from the PC but when I try to delete them (not
connected to the internet) I get the message:
It is not possible to disconnect at this time. The connection is currently
busy with a connect or disconnect operation.
Before I try again to set up a network - and probably send you an SOS - I
would like to have a clean laptop to do it. So your help would be appreciated
Pascal

You can not just simply delete the bridge connection by either highlight it
and hit the Delete key or right mouse click and choose Delete. This is what
you need to do to remove the bridge:

1. Open the Network Connections window and look for the "Network Bridge"
area.

2. Right click on the entry for one of the items below "Network Bridge" and
choose "Remove From Bridge".

3. Remove any other items from the bridge.

4. Right click on the bridge and choose "Delete" or just highlight it and
hit the Delete key.

Thank you for your reply.
In the "Network Bridge" area of Network Connections, I have I have a 1394
Connection that is disabled and bridged, and 3 Network Bridges 6, 7 and 9
that are unplugged.
When I right-click on any of these I do not have the option "Remove from
Bridge".
The properties of these bridges are empty.
Any other idea?

The connection have to be live. The 1394 is for firewire connection (like
to camera). You need to make sure that all of those are enable before you
can remove the bridge.

You can also try this,,
Uninstall the nertwork adaptor first, the try to delete them and reinstall
it after deleting the bridges.
