Default Showing date.

I have the toolbar at the bottom of my XP home SP2 screen, and the usual
time of day at bottom right.
When you hover the mouse over this, it normally gives a tiny window showing
the date. Mine has stopped doing this - the little window appears behind
the toolbar and only shows a thin sliver at its top. This still happens if
I move the toolbar to top or sides of the screen
Any ideas?

A second date related problem. I follow the practice of running normally in
a limited account. If I double click the time in order to get a calendar,
I'm told I don't have the privilege to change the time. Does anyone know
the name of the .exe so I can trigger it with p***ec?
thanks
Phil

An update - today we're back to displaying the date properly, but not of
course being able to get the calandar.
Some wag once said that computers were easy - either ones or zeros. Didn't
believe him then either!

Taskbar ToolTips like to play hide-go-seek!!! by jonmyrlebailey
This problem is caused by a bug in Windows that causes the taskbar tool-tips
to lose their "topmost" window style and be covered up by the taskbar.
Microsoft has acknowledged this problem exists
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912650), but has not yet fixed it.

To make a date tip that has been automatically hidden reappear, move the
mouse pointer over the start button and then back to the clock.
