Put

//tell Moz/NS to use the registered mail client to handle mailtos:
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.external.mailto", true);

into a text file file, name it "user.js" and put that file into your
Mozilla profile directory, usually something like

c:\Do***ents and Settings\[Your Name]\Application
Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\*.slt\

If you can't identify the correct directory, search for "prefs.js" --
wherever that one sits, your user.js will have to go as well.

Peter

I've done it but the pref.js file is re-created at netscape launch
and the inserted line is erased.

Please go to the directory that includes "prefs.js". There, create a new
file, "user.js". Open this file using a text editor like Notepad. Insert
the lines

//tell Moz/NS to use the registered mail client to handle mailtos:
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.external.mailto", true);

Save the file, close the text editor, restart Netscape, and you should
be fine.

What's wrong ???
Can the the completely IE6 removing be the source of my problems ?

Netscape 7.1 (English) is now available at:
<http://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/7.1/windows/win32/>, and
will soon be available in French.

From my point of view, that's a Netscape issue. The two lines worked
for me and my Mozilla -- from what I know of the familial relationship
between NS and Moz, I should expect this thing to work.

I'm not fluent enough in French to know whether or not you have found a
solution in netscape.netscape7.windows, but that is certainly the place
to look.

That can surely cause any sort of problems, depending on how you did it.

If Netscape is not closed when you make that change, it won't stick. Check the
task list to see if Netscape is closes. Do you have 'Quick Launch' in 7.02?
Close it.

"Rick" <me@privacy.net> a écrit dans le message de news:

I disabled 'quick launch' and netscape is not active when i make changes in
'user.js'.
And when i look to netscape parameters (type 'about:config' or something
like that in adress,
i see that "network.protocol-handler.external.mailto" is set to "true".
