Default Spanish spell checker

Is there a Spanish spell checker for Eudora6, and where can I find it?

Thanks

Default Spanish spell checker

I made a little progress. I found instructions on how to install a Spanish
spell checker for Eudora5.

I downloaded the espanol.tlx and espanol.clx files and put them in the
Eudora directory.

I then cut the special instruction line from the help page and, as
instructed, pasted it into a new message in Eudora. It showed up blue.

Then I held down the CTR key and clicked on the line. According to the
instructions I was to get a dialog box and I was to click OK. After that
the spell checker would use both the English (American), and Spanish
dictionaries.

Well, no box showed up. The pasted line changed from blue to red and gave
me some hope for a second, but no Spanish spell checker.

I crossed my fingers and rebooted everything, but no help there.

Evidently in Eudora5 's INI file there is a section called
MainLexFiles and that is where the dictionaries are listed. There is
nothing like that in the Eudora6 INI file.

I did a Ransack search and it found the entry:
MainLexFiles american.clx, american.tlx in eudora32.dll and also in
spell32.dll but I don't know how to add stuff inside a dll file.

Is this something that might be changed inside the registry?

Any advice appreciated.

Where did you find these?

Any chance you could explain the method?

First get the files:
Enter ftp.eudora.com in your browser.
Once there, go down thru the directories
eudora/eudorapro/windows/extras/dictionaries/3.0.1andlater
Then pick out the language you want; there are many.

Next download and unzip the Spanish file. You should have espanol.clx and
espanol.tlx for Spanish. Put these into the eudora directory. You should
already have the files american.clx and american.tlx in this directory.

Next copy this line into the text section of a new eudora mail:
<x-eudora-option:MainLexFiles=american.tlx,american.clx,espa nol.tlx,espanol.clx>

the line will be blue.

then hold down the Alt key and left-click the line. It will change to red.
Still holding the Alt key, click it again.

A dialog box pops up. Click Okay.

That's it. The checker should now use both American English and Spanish
dictionaries during spell checks.

If it works for you please report.

Does this mean if you misspell a Spanish word so that it comes out an
English word, it won't find it? And vice versa?

Yeah, the spell checker passes any word that is listed in either dictionary, and highlights only those words that are
not present in either of the dictionaries.

Yes, that's why I use just one dictionary at a time. Use the
X-Eudora-Option, but don't include all the dictionaries you have n the
program directory.

The instructions can be found at the Eudora tech support site. All sorts
of interesting and useful things can be found in the knowledge base there.
<http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/> is the main tech support page. The
one concerning non-English spell-checker dictionaries is
<http://eudora.com/techsupport/kb/1426hq.html>.
