Default Outlook Startup Error

Hi Barry,

Thanks for posting here!

Based on my knowledge and research, the error message references
Emsmdb.dll, even though the correct DLL, Emsmdb32.dll, reside in the
<Winroot>\System directory. The wrong file is being referenced because the
Wsock32.dll is not the right version; Wsock32.dll therefore references
Emsmdb.dll instead of Emsmdb32.dll.

Wsock32.dll file is usually being infected by virus. And if you installed
any Antivirus application, this program will detect infected file and
remove the file. To resolve this problem, we need to replace Wsock32.dll
with the correct version.

You could extract Wsock32.dll from Windows OS CD; or you can let me know
the version of your OS, I can help you to verify whether there is one in my
side and send it to you.

After replace the new Wsock32.dll, you need to remove all Outlook profile
in the workstation and then recreate them.

Hope this helps. Have a nice day!

Since the problem was partly related to Outlook, i decided to apply
MS Office XP Sp3 and it seems to have elimnated the problem.
