We have an SMTP gateway and I can see the mail coming in and being deliverd to the Exchange server...but the Exchange server sends me the following message back to the sending address, and the mail is never received...the Exchange server is rejecting it. I can't see it in the queue (Message from the Exchange server below).
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to the following recipients failed. charles@netora.com Message/delivery-status Reporting-MTA: dns;orangedc2.netora.com Received-From-MTA: dns;ns1netoracom.netora.com Arrival-Date: Thu, 23 Oct 2003 14:42:16 -0400 Final-Recipient: rfc822;charles@netora.com Action: failed Status: 5.0.0 OK...I don't know what this means. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

I eliminated the gateway and still get the same results: Users can send and receive mail internally no problem as well as send mail to any external domain, however, we cannot receive any mail from external mail accounts. The Exchange server just bounces them bace to the sender. I can't see any mail in the queus or mailboxes. Below is a reply from the Exchange server (orangedc2.netora.com):
