Internet & VPN Access
Hi Everyone,
Could someone help me with the following?
I have set up a VPN using RRAS on Window 2000 Server.
So far I am successful in connecting and accessing my WorkNetwork ressources
without too much problem.
My question is regarding Internet access when connected via the VPN.
I tested different settings from different machines (Dial-Up, ADSL, same
WorkGroup, different workgroup...)
It doesn't matter which settings I am using I can not access the internet
(WebBrowser, Messenger). I can access our Intranet.
I understand I need to either move to an ISA server as it includes Proxy
facilities or set up a Proxy Server at work. (I have found the necessary
do***entation for that)
A colleague has tried the VPN from home, he has got broadband internet
access and was using the same Workgroup than at work.
He said he could still access internet sites outside our domain.
And I do not understand how it can be.
Am I missing something somewhere. We do not have a Proxy server set up as
yet.
Can anyone explain that to me and additionally is it safe to keep it like
that?
Any suggestions/comments are welcome
Thank you!
Regards
Corinne
