where do I find web server name?
I am trying to use the CRM SDK to pull data from CRM. There is a code example
I am trying to get working which asks for the name of the platform web server
and the name of MS CRM virtual directory. I am not sure where I would go find
out this information. Below is the code snippet ...
// strServer should be set with the name of the platform Web server
String strServer = "MyServerName";
// strVirtualDirectory should be set with the name of the Microsoft CRM
// virtual directory on the platform Web server
String strVirtualDirectory = "mscrmservices";
String strDir = String.Concat("http://", strServer, "/",
The name of our physical server is called "gcmail". This is where IIS is
installed and running. When I open IIS I see 3 items called "Default Web
Site", "Administration Web Site" and "Microsoft CRM Version 1.2". I tried
using "http://gcmail/Microsoft CRM Version 1.2/" but I get an error when I
run the code. The error I get is "An unhandled exception of type
'System.Net.WebException' occurred in system.web.services.dll. Additional
information: The request failed with HTTP status 405: Method not allowed." I
also know that CRM is up and working because I can open my browser and enter
"http://crm" to run CRM.
Where do I go to find out what to use for the web server and virtual
directory names? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
