Default After upgrade of W2K to SP4 from SP3 cannot use Symantec Desktop Firewall 2.0

Hello,
I am running Windows 2000 5.00 Professional, SP4.

After installing a critical Windows 2000 update, which
upgraded my system to SP4 from SP3, I immediately
encountered the following 2 problems:

1. Almost as soon as I open any Word do***ent I get the
following error message: "The instruction at ox6061fdc3
referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be
read. Click OK to terminate the program".

2. Some Internet pages will not load unless I click on the
refresh bottom. Example:
http://channels.netscape.com/ns/weather/default.jsp hangs
forever until I click the refresh bottom.

There are no problems accessing this or other pages from
another computer in the same network.

These 2 problems (including the problem with Word!!)
immediately and consistently disappear after I disable my
Symantec Desktop Firewall 2.0.

Everything was working fine with SP3.

Could anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
