Default Auto spam?



Hi Charley,

Thank you for your post.

I have never heard Outlook would automatically send such kind of email each
time we perform Send/Receive. To narrow down this issue, I would like to
some information with you:

1. Let's start Outlook in safe mode and manually perform a send/receive,
will it send a blank email to yourself? (If the problem does not persists
in safe mode, please skip the following steps and let me know.)

- Click Start, and click Run.
- In the Open box, type: "outlook /safe" (without the quotation marks)
There is a space character between Outlook and the forward slash (/).
- Click OK.

2. Which version of Outlook are you using now? If it is 2000, please go to
Help->About Microsoft Outlook and tell me if it is in Internet Mail Only or
Cooperate workgroup mode.

3. Do you use a POP3 or Exchange email account in Outlook?

4. Which operating system are you using now? In case it may be related to
the third party software, let's start the computer in safe mode with
network and do not open any other programs including antivirus software,
start Outlook and check if the problem still persists.

With the above information, I will then be able to ****yze this issue and
provide you with some suggestions. I appreciate your efforts in helping me
collect it.
