Default Blue Screen: Can not write to C: Drive

Today my computer (gateway--windows 98) started randomly
giving me a blue screen that says: Can not write to C:
drive data may be lost. Press any key to continue. I ran
scan disk and it found some temp files that were
apparantly in the trash that were corrupted and repaired
them...but that dosnt sound the likely cause of the blue
screen? Anyone have any experience with this?

How much free space is on the C: drive? Run scandisk in "thorough" mode and
see if it finds any bad sectors. If it does, it's time to replace your HDD.
You might also open up your case and make sure all the fans are spinning
properly.
