Default Both Dialup and NIC with Windows/98

Is there a recommended approach to get both a PCI internal
modem and a PCI Ethernet card to work using the same PC
running Win/98? I want to use dialup networking through a
modem with one bootup session and then use a NIC card in
different bootup session. It seems that TCP/IP gets bound
to whichever card I install first and wont work with the
second card, regardless of the order that I install the
cards.
Do I have to use seperate hardware profiles? If so, is
there any specific do***entation on doing this? I noticed
that DNS settings are not seperately maintainable to both
dialup and LAN, are there other limitations like this?
I don't think I'm the first PC user to want to do old
fasioned dial with Ethernet, but I'm still searching for
answers. Thanks in advance.
