Buslink Usb Hard Drive not Recognized

I reinstalled Windows XP on my computer, now my Buslink USB harddrive is not
recognized. I click on device manager, it says unknown device. I click on
drivers it says no drivers are installed or the device doesn't need drivers.
The disk that came with it is for win98se drivers. At one time I saw an error
saying it wasn't finished shutting it down so it could be safely removed.
..but that only happeded once . It doesn't show up in disk management. Please
HELP??
