Default Can't Restore

I use an XDA II with Pocket PC Phone Edition 2003. Because of some software
conflict, I just hard reset my device (of course after I backed it up).
However, now I can't restore my data!

Anytime I tried to restore (and I'm sure the file I use is the same) I got a
message: "Restore cannot completed succesfully. The selected back up file
was created from a different type of mobile device."

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Budi

Hi,
When you tried to restore, did you setup a guest connection and select
Tools - Backup & Restore and then select Restore, then choose the file?

Hi Raj,

Thanx for your immediate reply. I tried as you suggested but it did not
work. Activesync said that the backup was made with a different device,
restore not possible.

But then I made a ROM restore with my Ipac, warm restard, another
recover attempt ... and now it's working!

a restore with Activesync but it forced me to create a new partnership/profile.

been made with another profile and it can only be restored to the same
profile. The old profile is still in activesync but not on the Ipaq.

to restore the old partnership. To restore the Activesync backup, you
need to connect as a guest first. It appears you have created a
partnership and hence you are unable to restore the backup. To be able
to connect as a guest, I suggest you first delete the new partnership.
To delete the partnership ---

guest. Then follow the instructions given on the Chris De Herrera's site
to restore the backup successfully ---
