Changing Password Breaks Reports.

I had to change the password for our DataBase and Action accounts used with
MOM. The Action account was found to need a change in Component Services and
everything went well. I went in to run a report through the web interface
and was getting errors. As it seems I need to update the system using the
rsconfig tool. I ran the tools as:

rsconfig -c -s ServerName -d ReportServer -a Windows -u Domain\Username -p
Password

The command was good but I'm getting the error:

Cannot open database requested in login 'ReportSever'. Login fails.

Added note, before running the previous command, the account was getting
locked out and it is not.

Maybe you impacted the account in the datasource.

MOM Reporting Access Account:

To change the password in SCDW Data Source

In the MOM Reporting Console, on the Home page, click SCDW.
On the Properties page, make sure that the Credentials stored securely in
the report server option and that the Use Windows credentials when connecting
to the data source checkbox are both selected.
Type the new domain\username in the User name textbox and type the password
in the Password textbox.
Click Apply.

Thank you for your reply. I have done most of what you had listed on your
blog, the two things not done previously were to send the Update Agent
Settings and the DTS password. Now to the reporting side.

When I launch the Web Reporting Page, I get the error:

The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A
connection to the database is required for all requests and processing.
(rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable) Get Online Help
Cannot open database requested in login 'ReportSever'. Login fails. Login
failed for user 'domain\user'.

I also ran through the rskeymgmt but after the prompt "are you sure" it
reports back:

Unable to connect to the database (-2147159551) 0x80004005

Report Server Service is running as local system, as you mentioned. Is
there maybe something there that I'm missing?

You should go into the web reports as an administrator. Then, if you click on
the "SCDW" datasource, it should list the account it is using to run the
reports. You will have to most likely update the password there. Let me know
if this works or if you need more help justinharter@hotmail.com

I'm using my credentials either via URL remotely or on the server which is in
domain and enterprise administrator groups. The error in the page is using a
service account. I'll send you a message as well post any other information
here.
