Hi Beltree,

Connected pages are pages that share the placeholder content.
This means, if you have the same content in different locations you could
just create a connected posting of an existing posting in the new location.
Usually you will need to use the same template as the same placeholder
definitions are required.

But what if the same content should be displayed but in a different page
layout? Then create a connected template. Connected templates share their
placeholder definitions. This means you are able to create a connected
posting based on a connnected template to show the same content in different
formatting or layout.

Due to the fact that you are not forced to utilize all placeholders in
placeholder controls you are also able to have only some placeholder
controls with shared content and some with unique content.

Cheers,
Stefan
