Connecting Pocket PC w/ laptop & synching

Ever since I downloaded Microsoft 2003 for my Pocket PC
Phone Edition (T-Mobil), I have not been able to
synchronize because the Pocket PC cannot get connected to
my laptop.

I've tried everything I could think of but to no avail?

Any suggestion?
