Connecting to a print share on a member server in a non-Domain environment
I am trying to connect a Windows 98 PC to a print share
defined on a Windows 2000 server that is not in a Domain.
It is just a standalone server connected on a small
Ethernet segment with 8 PC's and 2 Ethernet connected
printers, all of which are using TCP/IP.
Whenever I try to define printer any PC that points to the
print shares on the server I am prompted to enter a
password. I have tried to use the Administrator account
password from the server but the message I get is the
password is invalid.
Is there a way to do this without upgrading the server to
a Domain Controller and making all of the clients members
in the Domain? If yes, how? All I really want to do is
print to the printers from the PC's.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
