Default Create MS Reader file with Word 2000?

I understood that it was possible to create an ebook (LIT file?) with
Word 2000, but I see no access to that on my version of Word 2000 SR1

You need a Word add-on:

It seems to work OK.

OK, sorted thanks. I gather I need to download an add-in.

That's one way, but if you want a decent result, don't use that MS
Worst plug-in; and if you edit the book in Word, make sure to run the
saved HTML through HTML Tidy before proceeding and remove all fixed
typeface and font size settings manually.

This weekend, I created a .lit file from the same source as someone
else did with Word, just to show her the difference.

Her version: 563 K.
My version, after cleaning the bloat out of Word's HTML and using
ReaderWorks Publisher: 295 K.

HTML Tidy: http://www.w3.org/People/Raggett/tidy/

ReaderWorks: http://www.overdrive.com/readerworks/
[The Standard version is free]

Vlad, I've got to say: thanks very much!
A very nifty piece of software indeed.
(Readerworks, I mean - I didn't try the other one.)
