Default CRM - Need helping solving multiple problems

I just installed CRM following the guide word for word. Here are my issues:

I went to install the exchange router. I got an error saying I do not have
permission to the crm server.

Note: I installed everything as domain admin and always log in as domain
admin.

I go to http://(CRM server name)

I'm asked for a user and pw. I type in my administrator & my pw and I get
auth failure.

I try to open any of the work flows from the CRM server and I get the error
"You do not have sufficient microsoft crm priviledges to run the
workflowmanager (for example)"

I am able to open deployment manager.

My CRM users guide says to open the tutorial, just go to help-tutorial from
the CRM application.

Which of these is the application my guide is talking about:
Deployment Manager
Workflow Export
Workflow Import
workflow Manager
Workflow Monitor

Those are the obly choices I have.

Any help with any of these problems would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Have you added the crm web site to your IE Local Intranet Zone? Did you use
domain\username and password when authenticating? You must open CRM browser
client first, and grant your admin account a licence before attempting the
other actions you mention

No I havent. I just did this on the CRM server and from the CRM server I can
get to the crm web page. Thank you.

I just now tried getting to the CRM web page from a different PC in my
network and I can get in.
Did you use

You said to do the following:
You must open CRM browser client first, and grant your admin account a

What is the CRM browser client? Could you walk me through it? Really
appreciate your help. Thanks

CRM browser client is just IE connected to CRM web site

To grant a licence to the account that installed CRM:-

(by memory) Go to Home > Settings > Business Settings > Users > open the
user record for the admin account and add a licemce to it > Save and exit >

Now you should be able to make progress

The tutorial is (I guess) accesssible through the Help within the CRM
browser client

Peter.

Sorry it took so long to respond.

I found the place you were talking about and the administrator did not have
a license attached to it. I attached one. Now, from my crm server I can get
into crm, thank you.

However, if I try to get in from any other server or workstation in the same
domain, I get this error after entering admin credentials:
an error has occuree. Please contact your system administrator.

And the address bar shows this as the
url:http://pindi/_common/error/errorhandler.aspx?errnum=0x80040226

Also, when I am on my exchange 2003 server trying to install the router I
get the same error: One or more of the Microsoft CRM Servers you listed is
invalid or you do not have administrator priviledges on that server. Make
sure that all servers are running properly and try again.

Also as a side note. I just noticed that I can see all my servers and
workstations under my domain name, but when I click on any of them to get to
the shares I get an error saying I don't have permission.

This is giving me a headache. I can't believe I am the only one having this
problem.

What do you think?

Mike

Mike,

I am not sure.
Do you get the same error if you use the CRM server IP address in Internet
Explorer?
Have you added the CRM server to local Intranet Zone in IE security
settings?
Try relaxing the security settings in IE and see if it works
These are just suggestions, I do not know for sure, sorry

Hey peter thanks for the help.

I just now entered my crm server into the trusted sites and can now get in
from any workstation. It doesnt even ask me for credentials, it picks them up
from my workstation log on. That's good.I wish Microsoft would tell you the
little things in their USER MANUAL.

I haven't tried installing the router yet, I have to wait until monday when
I get at the office.
