DFS - replica without clients redirection

is it possible with win2000 dfs to make a replica to which no clients will
connect?
so that all the data is allways replicated, but when a replica goes offline
I have to manualy say that the clients have to go to the other replica?

You can disable the referral for the link where you do not want users to
connect.
However, when you tell the users to go to the other replica, they will have
to target the share directly. \\servername\sharename.
Disabling the referral also will not prevent the users from targeting the
share directly.
