I have heard a lot about flashing an MDA II phone to O2 upgraded
software...what is different?

First, we are lead to believe (and probably for good reasons) that in each
case the radio software is optimized for their own networks.

Second, there are some applications that are different in the different OSs.

Third, you can loose your warranty if you install the OS from the other
company.

And there may be other issues, like SIM locking, etc. Don't forget that you
are dealing with the ROM of the device.

I appreciate you concern about upgrading but what I was asking was what the
specific differences are. There has to be some advantage of upgrading to
the O2 OS or people wouldn't be doing it.

For reference...the phones are unlocked and are new.
