Please help. NT 4.0 (sp6) seems to boot correctly but my
desktop does not come up, nor does my start/taskbar and
task manager can't start a new task. Tried to run the
setup boot disk but ran into crashdebug error so NT did
not reinstall.

I still have access to my files through another computer
as the computer with the problem still logs on to the
network so I should be able to overwrite any system files
in c: (where allowed) still if necessary.

I've tried to delete then expand the explorer_ex file
replacing the existing explorer.exe but that didn't work.

Any input on possible recovery would be appreciated.
