Ext Dos Partition

Although you say there is only an extended and a primary partition,
make sure there isn't a logical drive within the extended partition,
You need to delete the logical drive(s) before you can remove the
extended DOS partition,
IOW you have to work backwards - del logicals, del extended, del
primary.
Could something be hidden? check the sizes of your existing
partitions to see if they add up to the size of your HDD as
reported by fdisk.
