File Delete

I had a user who created a file and deleted it by mistake all before the
nightly backup had a chance to run. Is there any way in MS Windows 2000
Server that will allow me to recover this file?

Probably not at this point. There has probably been too much change on the
volume by now.

When you do a delete with NTFS, the deleted blocks are put into a quick
lookup list and are usually the first blocks re-allocated. So, data tends

First check to see if the file is located in the recycle bin.

If you have Norton SystemWorks installed, check to see if it's located in
the Norton Protected files (Right Click on the Recycle Bin | UnErase Wizard |
check "Find all Norton Protected Users files" | Next

If the files are not located in the recycle bin or Norton Protected files
(if your have NSW), then most of the chanses that it's not possible to
recover it.
But you may try using 3rd party recovering softwares.
