File permission problems on Linux share
Several people want to share a certain Word do***ent. We
have placed it on a shared Linux drive.
The problem is that whenever one of us makes an edit and
saves the file, the file ownership and permissions change
so that whoever made the last change becomes the file
owner, and the others are denied permission to write to the
file.
The file and the parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent
folders can all be set to "everyone full control" permission
(wrxwrxwrx on Linux). This makes no difference, as soon as
someone saves the file they grab ownership and everyone
else is denied write access.
Any suggestions?
