Not too sure if this is what you need but it "should" do what you want. Go to the root folder C in Windows Explorer and set View to details. Then go to Tools | Folder Options | View and say "Like Current Folder" hit apply then OK. Then close out of Windows Explorer.

Now go to one of the folders on your desktop NOT using the shortcut but directly to the folder use Windows Explorer. Select that folder and choose View | then however you want to view it. Close out. Your shortcut on your desktop should display it correctly. Remember if you ever do this again from the top ALL your folder views will again change.
