Default Generating a list of servers affected by the SQL Server MP

I have this MP deployed in my environment, however, when I review the SQL
Server 2000 Computer Group, I do not see any servers listed in it..

Any suggestions?

Hey Mike,

After you imported the new management pack, did you do a computer scan and
then push configuration changes from the admin console?

Blake

Blake-

did not do a computer scan, as I did not see an option for it in the MP
pack, nor under the Computer Groups area where SQL Server groups (3) are
listed.

Ah, no not there. I don't think this is really required, but it's something
I did in MOM 2000.

After you import the MP, it creates computer groups, scripts, providers, and
rules. However, in MOM 2000 you would be best of telling the management
server to scan it's managed computers, then when that completed you push the
configuration changes so to ensure the computer groups get populated and
rules get picked up.

From what I have seen this really isn't necessary anymore, but I still do
it.

So go into the Admin console, go to the management servers, right click on
the management server you want to kick off a discovery from and do a
computer discovery. Then go to the top tier of the rule groups (I think
it's called management something I forget and I am not logged in to see) and
right click - commit configuration changes.

HOWEVER, it has been a while since your original post and MOM should have
done this automatically by now. Is SQL still not getting picked up?
