Hi,
This is for the free pocket pc offer that ended on June 30th 2003 in the
US.

I sent in the registration in the first week of May, however the order
status, still says "Submission review completed"...

Was wondering if this free pocket pc offer was a joke... since I could
not find any info about experiences of other people who responded to
the offer...

Somebody made a posting saying that microsoft had limited pocketpcs for each
country but that surprises me more since the "availability" link pointed to
the page that stated that the pocketpc delivery was guaranteed (on the last
day of the offer 30th June 2003).

what is going on?
Is there any chance that I would be getting the pocketpc?

I know at least 3 people in the US that did receive them.

It wasn't a contest, it was just an offer. Basically, if you purchaes VS.NET
2003 and are using it you could sign-up to get a free Viewsonic V37 Pocket
PC. The offer has ended, however. Go here to see what it was all about

I received an email this past Friday (7/11) telling me mine was ready to
be shipped.

I received another one today telling me it had been shipped, including a
tracking number for Airborne Express. It had actually been shipped on
Friday.

Three other people I know who signed up at the same time received the same
email on Friday.

Ok, thanks. My confirmation email is dated May 22. Hopefully I'll be getting
the "shipped" email soon.

A minor (I hope) grumble from me:

Two of the other three people I mentioned in my first post have all
received their items; the third would have, but he had it sent to his
home and nobody was there to receive it.

Mine on the other hand, is still listed as "In Transit" on the
Airborne Express Web site :-(
