Default Help! EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION when trying to open a DTS package

Help! All of a sudden I can't open my (or any) DTS packages in
Ent.Mgr. I get the above error no matter what I try to open (simple
vs. complex) it then says the selected package cannot be opened, so
the DTS designer has been closed. If I try do a "new package" I get a
completely blank window, no icons for connections, no menu, etc.

These same DTS packages can be opened on other machines with no
problems.

I'm on SQLServer2000, with SP3 installed along with the hotfix for the
DTSUI, and it was working fine a few days ago. I've also completely
uninstalled and reinstalled SQLServer and client tools twice, but
nothing is working. (I also installed all window service packs, I'm on
XPPro.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin

I would have thought uninstalling and reinstalling everything would
have taken care of that...nevertheless, I did unregister and
reregister the dll's as indicated in you link, but am still getting
the same error.

Can I assume the uninstall of the SQLServer tools is incomplete? Is
there another way to purge all dll's config's or whatever and start
fresh again? Obviously, something that is corrupted is being kept
around even after I uninstall everything.

Thanks for you help...

try a reinstall first of MDAC and I.E.

I had awful problems once with msado15.dll after installing IBM Client
Access drivers. A reregister did for me then.

Also make sure you have the correct version of comcat.dll
