Default how to browse through network folders.

My browse dialog shows only local drives and mapped
network drives. How can I set it up so that it shows
shared network folders without mapping?

The control DirectoryCombo seems not to support this. The only supported
(published) bits are RemovableVolume, FixedVolume, RemoteVolume,
CDROMVolume, RAMDiskVolume, and FloppyVolume.

The interesting discrepancy is that, althogh the DirectoryCombo can not
display network shares, you can indeed install to a shared network folder if
you pass the directory paths (as \\myserver\myshare) to the installation.

If it is too critical, your best bet might be replacing the regular change
folder dialog with a custom one.

Thanks, but I don't know how to construct a dialog so
that it can browse through network shares. DirectoryCombo
cannot do that, as you say. Can any other control do this?

SHBrowseForFolder is the one you need. It has options to browse network shares.

In fact, it is not so critical. I have to get the path of
a database directory which may be local or on a remote
source. If I can not get it from user, I have to ask him
to map that folder. I think this is not a user-friendly
approach. I have tried Phil's suggestion,
SHBrowseForFolder, but I could't make it work. Is there a
sample .msi or a tutorial or something else on the net
that I can see how it is used?
