Default I can see the domain but, can't do anything.

OK, I am setting up a new server (forest) on our network.
However, we are not using DHCP becuase we already have
another server that handles this. The problem is that
after setting up DNS and AD, I can't not logon from any of
the workstations. In fact, when I browse the network, I
can actually see the domain out there, but when I click on
it- it sits there forever and then I get an error message.
I have installed the DNS information statically in the
TCP/IP properties. What up am I doing wrong?

thanks in advance...

In news:00fd01c3c0c6$9c0c8670$a101280a@phx.gbl,
James Brady <jlbrady@jlbrady.com> posted a question
Then Kevin replied below:

What DNS does DHCP assign?
In an AD environment you must only use the internal DNS that has the AD
domain zone, which is usually the DC itself.

Please post an ipconfig /all and the AD domain name from ADU&C from the DC
and a client so we can start to diagnose your problem.
