Default Inbox and Outbox files

Using Biztalk 2004 and the Accelerator for HIPAA today we noticed the
production server was low on disk space. Investigating, we find that there
are a large number of files in the directory inbox and outbox. These
directories are found in the path below. What are these files? Thanks.

C:\
do***ents and settings\all users\application data\microsoft\biztalk server
2004\hipaa_edi\subsystem\do***ents\system

Default Inbox and Outbox files

The files stored here are hipaa edi do***ents for various stages of
processing. You can manage these in one of two ways:

1. The HIPAA Audit feature where the default setting is to archive and
clear these directories ever 30 days.

2. Manually
a. Stop the HIPAA service
b. Delete all files from the Inbox/Outbox, Internal/External
directories
c. Delete HIPAA database references to these files: DELETE audin;
DELETE audout;

If you perform item b. without item c. or visa versa, you may encounter a
minefield of application event log entries. Step 2. effectively deletes all
EDI history and renders HIPAA EDI reports as blank.
