Steps to access shared resources on 2 W2k machines in a workgroup
- Make both computers a memeber of the same workgroup
- Make sure the Username and Passwords match on both workstations (or wkstn and server)
- Make sure the network connectivity is working (eg ping the server)
- If all else fails on the server click start, run and type dcpromo and follow the screens to make your server an active directory controller
- If you use Active Directory you will have to set up a user for the workstation and join the workstation to the domain (start, run, dsa.msc to create the user)
