Default Joining a laptop to multiple, non-trusting domains

Equipment

Dell Inspiron 8000/Windows 2000 Professional (SP3),
internal network card, no docking station.

Scenario

As a consultant I have multiple clients, and take my
laptop on to site with me. Usually I have an account on
the customer's network that I can log into if needed, but
often there is no physical workstation except my laptop.
I would like to know if there is a way to retain multiple
network/domain settings on my laptop so that I could plug
it into the network at the client office, and log in, then
return to my home office, plug the laptop in, and log in.

What I have done on the one occasion that I did this in
the past was join the customer's domain with my laptop
which wiped-out my settings for my home office network.
It seems like a lot of extra work.

Any solutions?
