Default Mitac Mio 8380 digital ceritifcate bugs....

There are some serious bugs with the Mio Mitac 8380 build of
Smartphone 2002. I'm only getting a 60% success rate on installing
digitally certified apps on this phone. Just installing the first 2
pages of demos at handango here is my success rate:

Apps that WILL currently install:
IA Caller ID for Smartphone by IA Style, Inc. (Trial)
IA File Manager Pack by IA Style, Inc. (Trial)
RepliGo for Microsoft Smartphone by Cerience Corporation (Trial)
Hexacto's Tennis Addict (Smartphone) by Hexacto Inc. (Trial)
Photo Contacts by Pocketx Software Inc. (Trial)
eWallet for Smartphones by Ilium Software (Trial)
ALL-calculator for Windows Powered Smartphone by ALL-locations
(Trial)
Hexacto's Slurp (Smartphone) by Hexacto Inc. (Trial)
Smart 4Lign by AIM Productions N.V. (Trial)

Apps that WON'T currently install:
IA Album for Smartphone by IA Style, Inc. (Trial)
ALL-explorer for Windows Powered SmartPhone by ALL-locations (Trial)
Links by Hexacto Inc. (Trial) (3 cabs in install but only 1
installs?)
ALL-locations GPRS Traffic Counter SPE by ALL-locations (Trial)
Caller2Picture SmartPhone Edition V1.0 by V2R Vision To Reality
(Trial)
CodeWallet Pro for Windows Powered Smartphone by Developer One, Inc.
(Trial)
Lextionary - English Dictionary by Revolutionary Software Front
(Trial)

Something really wierd is going on with the Links installer. I know
they've got to be using the same digital certificate for all 3 cabs
in the installer but only 1 installs? That gives some pretty solid
proof there is a bug in the OS side of things. This digital
certificate problem is really souring me on the Mio 8380. I purchased
this phone via Synnex and use it with T-Mobile USA. Why can't I get
assistance on app unlocking my phone. There is no reason why an
end-user should not be allowed to unlock their phone of there is no
application lock policy for smartphone 2002 implemented by my
carrier. If the digital cert system is broken on the phone it is only
reasonable to allow end-users access to a Mitac or MS signed utility
to turn off this bugged app lock system on the Mio 8380. I'm sure
software develoeprs for the phone along with http://www.handango.com and
http://www.smartphone.net would like resolution to this one way or the other
too. I know they didn't invest all this money into a cert system for
it to randomly not work 40% of the time.

This is a know issue, MS and Mitac are aware of it.

There is a thread about that on modaco.com (but their server seems currently
down).

you're right... but this post is the important one:
http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?p=272762#272762

Mitac engineers are aware of the problem (a big problem for their
customers!), and they have contacted MS. So the problem will be fixed soon
(hopefuly).

You can add to your list of signed smartphone applications that do not
install on the Mio:
PocketTV Enterprise Edition (trial)
