MOM resource kit tools doesn't work on MOM SP1- UI version is different
Good Morning,
There is a way to workaround the issue. Please, bear in mind that,
editing registry settings carries an inherent risk and should only be done
by experienced personnel.
The installer is checking a particular registry key for the current
version of the MOM UI. The key is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations
Manager\2.0\Setup. There is a value there called "UIVersion". For MOM 2005
SP1, the version is set to "5.0.2911.0". To get the installer to work,
change this value to "5.0.2749.0". You can then run the setup program to
install the Operation Console Notifier. After setup is complete, change the
value back to "5.0.2911.0".
The Operations Console Notifier should work properly after this
operation. I have tried this on a test system and it works.
Can I persuade you to open an bug on this issue at our product feedback
website? The link is: http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/productfeedback/.
Your patience and support are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
