Default MSXML4.0

After scanning with MSBA, error message indicates that I need MSXML4.0 SP2.
I have downloaded all available updates from Windows Update. What is this
and what program uses it?
Is it really that important of a security issue? I am running an HP with
Windows XP Home edition. I have XP SP2 already installed, and Update says no
critical updates available. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated.

Hi

You can download it from here:

Download details: MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 2 (Microsoft XML Core Services)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3144b72b-b4f2-46da-b4b6-c5d7485f2b42&DisplayLang=en

Select the file "msxml.msi", download and run it. Somewhat into the
installation, select the "Install Now" button, and not the
"Customize..." one.

Torgeir's reply is perfect. To answer your remaining question, MBSA
provides service pack warnings for OS components (like MDAC, MSXML and
others). Although Windows Update will provide most of the updates your
system will ever need, it does not provide service pack updates for these
types of OS components. MBSA does. I hope that helps...
