Default New Data Object - Object Name drop down list not populating

I'm running Commerce Server 2002 FP1 on Windows XP in my development
environment.

I tried creating a new Profile through Commerce Server Manager by creating a
table in the DB and creating a Data Object for it, but when I try to create a
New Data Object, the Object Name drop down list is not populated.

In our production environment we're using Commerce Server 2002 SP3 on
Windows Server 2000 SP4, and this is working fine.

This appears to be a known issue, based on the KB article 834140, where it's
recommended to wait for the next Commerce Server 2002 service pack. I tried
installing SP3 on my XP but it says that it won't install because the FP1
contains all the required updates.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you checked the version of the effected file listed in the KB to ensure
that it has been updated by FP1? Are you sure you're running MDAC 2.8?

There was a hotfix for pre-SP3 and it was stable. Perhaps if the FP1
installer didn't update the file for you they can send you that Hotfix
package.

Thank you for using Microsoft Newsgroups.

It is included in SP3, review Q842086 List of bugs that are fixed in
Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 3
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=842086. FP1 includes SP3 for Commerce
Server.

From the product do***entation, make sure that "you must include a data
member that is a primary key for the data object.".

The file version for Dsmsnapin.dll after installing FP1 should be
4.6.5220.0.
